MemSystems - Advanced Membrane Filtration Equipment for R&D
MemSystems offers precise, modular tools supporting the development and testing of both flat sheet membranes and hollow fiber modules, including: MemCast™, RotaMem, MemCut, Spider. These tools are essential for:
- Flat sheet membrane casting
- Polymeric membrane development
- Preparation and testing of hollow fiber membrane modules
- Enhancing lab workflows in membrane research and product development

MemCast™
MemCast™ is an automated casting system designed for the controlled production of flat sheet polymeric membranes. The machine enables precise application of polymer solutions, allowing membrane thickness to be adjusted according to specific research or development requirements.
Following casting, the polymer film is transferred into a coagulation bath, where membrane formation takes place via wet phase inversion. MemCast™ supports the fabrication of both self-supporting membrane films and membranes cast on a variety of substrates, providing flexibility for different material systems and experimental setups.

RotaMem
RotaMem is an automated centrifugal potting system developed for preparing hollow fiber membrane R&D modules using two-component potting resins. The device enables controlled potting of two modules in a single cycle, ensuring uniform resin distribution and high process repeatability.
The RotaMem system supports reproducible module preparation, making it a reliable tool for hollow fiber membrane development and laboratory-scale module fabrication.

MemCut
MemCut is a compact device developed to ensure a consistent and repeatable trimming process of hollow fiber membrane modules after potting in polymer housings. The system supports manual cutting of PUR or epoxy potting blocks up to 60 mm in diameter, with recommended material hardness in the range of 40–60 Shore D.
Designed for precise laboratory workflows, MemCut enables clean and uniform cuts, helping to improve reproducibility and handling of hollow fiber modules during preparation and testing.

Spider
Spider is a high-capacity dead-end filtration system developed for efficient parallel testing in membrane laboratories. Depending on the configuration, the module enables 8 or 16 filtration experiments to be carried out simultaneously, significantly shortening testing cycles while maintaining high measurement consistency.
The system is manufactured from durable stainless steel and is suitable for use with both aqueous and organic solutions, ensuring broad applicability across different membrane materials and process conditions.
Operation of the Spider module is straightforward and repeatable. Membranes are mounted in dedicated holders, the filtration chamber is securely closed, and the feed solution is introduced into the reservoir. Once pressure is applied, permeate streams are collected individually for further analysis, while the retentate remains accessible for additional evaluation. This setup supports reliable comparison of membrane performance under controlled operating conditions.
